What is Bing?

If you keep hearing the term Bing - and you are wondering what Bing is - I am going to break it down for you.

Bing is a re-branded search engine that is supposedly going to give Google (the big daddy) a run for its money! I know what you are thinking those are some strong words and very strong expectations.

The big launch date was June 3rd 2009. The big question is what is the difference between Bing and Google?

Well Bing has been advertised as the “decision engine” meaning Bing is not only going to try to pull as relevant information as possible but also organize it in a fashion that is helpful and useful. Bing offers similar tabs as Google such as “images”, “maps”, “shopping” etc.  But is said to be more user friendly.

Bing has also been categorized as being “prettier” then Google with crisp clear photography shots that change every day. Only time will tell if Bing can walk the walk and talk the talk. So far it has great reviews from the tech community.

I look forward to seeing how Bing does in the future. I am glad that someone else has stepped up to the plate in search engines. I am sure search engines will continue to improve over time - which is always a good thing!
